Abstract

Klebsiella pneumoniae (K.pneumoniae) is a common cause of community and hospital acquired infection and is one of the rare causes of adult meningitis. Due to the high mortality of K.pneumoniae, accurate diagnosis and rapid treatment are important for better prognosis. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) test is the most important method for diagnosing meningitis. In particular, adenosine deaminase activity (ADA) is considered an indicator of tuberculous meningitis and is used for differential diagnosis of bacterial meningitis. However, we report the patient with K.pneumoniae meningitis who shows very high ADA in CSF.
